Independent Music New Zealand today announced that The New Zealand Music Foundation is the charity partner of the Taite Music Prize 2017 being held at the Civic’s Wintergarden in Auckland on Tuesday 18 April.
The charity develops and supports projects that use music to make a positive difference to people in need across the country. It also provides emergency assistance to people from the NZ music community and last year launched a confidential counselling service specifically to assist kiwi music people.
New Zealand Music Foundation general manager Peter Dickens says: “Our work providing emergency assistance and counselling to kiwi music people and making music projects possible to help people all over NZ who are vulnerable or experiencing health issues is only possible through support from organisations like Independent Music NZ and The Taite Music Prize 2017. We’re excited and very grateful for the opportunity, and very much looking forward to the night. ”
