We believe that music can play an essential part in New Zealand’s healthcare system.
At the forefront of efforts to use the power of music to help and heal are New Zealand’s registered Music Therapists.
Every day, new research is showing that music therapy can measurably improve the lives of cancer patients, children with developmental conditions, patients with neurological disorders and traumatic brain injury, to name just a few.
Overseas, hospitals are successfully using music therapy to help with pain management, to help ward off depression, promote movement, to calm patients, to ease muscle tension and in many other ways that meet and sometimes exceeds the efficacy of other therapeutic approaches.
We believe that music therapy should be more accessible to Kiwis across Aotearoa. We’re working to make that a reality.
