2024 Master of Music Therapy Awardee, Kate Owen is currently studying at Victoria University while continuing her music projects as a singer/songwriter,"We know music comforts, and heals. So many cultures have music hard wired into their healing modalities, their rituals, their everyday. In the west most health interventions are delivered in clinical settings, but thanks to the Masters of Music Therapy program I will be able to offer music to people alongside these clinical practices. Music has saved my mind and my body from ill health countless times. Soon I will be able to offer my musical tool box up to people that need it the most."
MusicHelps is proud to present this award which not only recognizes a future music therapy practitioner but also reconfirms the power music has to help and heal.
