CANCER SOCIETY CANTERBURY – Christchurch
The Cancer Society is a national organization that aims to reduce the incidence and impact of cancer in New Zealand. The Southern Cancer Society Division (CSNZ) offer a range of services to clients who have a terminal diagnosis to support them to live well in their last weeks / months / years of life, including counselling, memory making opportunities with whanau and emotional support. MusicHelps will be assisting with funding of a Music Therapy pilot programme to support and resource terminal cancer patients and their whānau.

CHAMBER MUSIC TRUST – Wellington
Chamber Music New Zealand (CMNZ) is Aotearoa New Zealand’s leading not-for-profit organization devoted to the performance and development of chamber music and small forces musical performance in the country. In partnership with Yellow Brick Road (a national mental health support organization) and Kia Haanga Whakarereke Inc, CMNZ are running Create Moerewa, a two-day music-based holiday programme in October 2024 for twenty rangatahi in Moerewa. MusicHelps is contributing towards local musicians' fees.

CHRISTCHURCH SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA - Christchurch
The Christchurch Symphony Orchestra (CSO) is the largest resident orchestra in the South Island. In 2024, CSO successfully ran an 8-week pilot movement programme for people living with MS and Parkinson’s based at BrainTree Wellness Centre in Christchurch. Each week, three leading CSO musicians attended the sessions to provide all the music for the physical exercises, enabling the music therapists to be able to react to the individual’s needs and respond accordingly. MusicHelps are contributing towards the principal musician costs for the project being run in the first quarter of 2025.

CRESCENDO - Auckland
The Crescendo Trust of Aotearoa offers music mentoring and wellbeing programmes for young people aged 15-24 who may not fit into mainstream education settings or may have been referred by other services. Crescendo provides music mentoring and wellbeing programmes for rangatahi/young people aged 15-24 years. MusicHelps are assisting with music mentoring costs for Crescendo’s Pathway Programme.

GLASS CEILING ARTS COLLECTIVE - Warkworth
Glass Ceiling Arts Collective (GCAC) provides accessible community and youth performing arts programmes, performances and provides music workshops using traditional instruments and music technologies to empower disabled people to create their own music. Their programmes allow individuals and communities to break the glass ceiling so that disabled people can be seen as creatives first and foremost. MusicHelps are funding instruments for GCAC workshops.

KAMO PRIMARY - Northland
Kamo Primary is a learning community providing quality education for children predominately living in the Kamo area of Whangarei. MusicHelps are assisting with funding for two half hour music therapy sessions per week at the start of Term 4 October.
MAPURA STUDIOS - Auckland
Māpura Studios is a creative space working with people living with all forms of disability and diversity. Participants include people with intellectual disability, physical disability, mental health, Cerebral Palsy, epilepsy, autism, vision impaired, deafness, brain injury, stroke and a range of other neurological conditions. Māpura Studios offer programmes such as visual art, music, dance, movement, cartooning, and singing, stroke art therapy and therapy for children and youth. MusicHelps are supporting Māpura Studios singing groups.

MIX CONNECTING, CREATING, LIVING INC.– Hutt Valley
MIX is a NFP organization that supports those who live with the experience of mental illness, through a variety of creative and life skill opportunities. They provide a range of programmes which focus on improving mental wellbeing and supporting recovery. MusicHelps are supporting Mix’s Group Music Therapy sessions.

NELSON CENTRE OF MUSICAL ARTS - Nelson
Nelson Centre of Musical Arts (NCMA) is a community music centre offering programming that is accessible, affordable and inclusive. The Music Therapy Pathways uses music to assist with the healing and personal growth of people with identified emotional, intellectual, physical, or social needs. NelSONG Neurological Choir is a no-pressure social singing choir. The participants of the choir include people with Parkinson’s Disease, stroke, aphasia, stress, anxiety, brain trauma, and other personal health conditions who come along for the singing, enjoy others’ company and have a good time. MusicHelps are assisting with funding of music directors.

PRESBYTERIAN SUPPORT – Upper South Island
Presbyterian Support (USI) is a community based social services agency working towards a just and inclusive society. Enliven, Positive Ageing Services is the division of Presbyterian Support (USI) that offers a range of services for older people. These include stand-alone day activity programmes for frail older people and those with memory loss relating to dementia, counselling, social work, Kaiāwhina Māori support, respite care, budgeting services, volunteer programmes and falls prevention programmes. MusicHelps are supporting the Totara Club's Music Therapy Movement and Singing courses.

PRIMA VOLTA - Hastings
The Prima Volta Charitable Trust’s (PVCT) programmes aim to transform individuals, whānau and communities through participation in music-based activities and education. The programme aims to remove social, cultural and financial barriers through its free music programmes, providing opportunities for all local youth who are interested in developing and sharing their voice. MusicHelps are assisting with the costs of Prima Volta music coaching staff.
REMARKABLES PRIMARY SCHOOL - Queenstown
Remarkables Primary School have developed a strong reputation for supporting our Special Needs students. MusicHelps are assisting with the purchase of music instruments for their ORSome Musicians programme, a weekly 1 hour Music activity.
SISTEMA AOTEAROA – Auckland
Sistema Aotearoa's vision is unleashing the potential of tamariki, whānau and communities through orchestral music-making. MusicHelps are supporting their Pūoro Pīrere sessions a preschool music programme, where children sing, move, dance and respond to music.

SISTEMA WHANGEREI - Whangārei
Sistema Whangarei - Toi Akorangi provides free orchestral instrument and musicianship lessons to children in Whangarei and Northland who may otherwise lack access to such opportunities. MusicHelps are assisting with the purchase of music instruments which will be used in programmes through the rural areas of Northland and a new after-school programme within the Whangarei area.

TE WHARE TIAKI WAHINE REFUGE - Porirua
Te Whare Tiaki Wāhine Refuge (TWTWR) is a proudly kaupapa Māori service, based in Porirua, which has been helping women and whānau escape domestic and family violence for over four decades. TWTWR are partnering with registered Music Therapists to provide a programme which supports our wāhine and their tamariki to experience safe and healthy connections with one another, and to develop skills for self-soothing. MusicHelps are assisting with Music Therapist fees.

THE GREEN ROOM RHYTHM OF YOUTH - Auckland
The Green Room’s “Happy Harmonies" is a community choir and music group for hospitals, rehabilitation centres, hospice and organizations which works weekly with Northern Health School, Ronald McDonald and Wilson Home Rehabilitation. The programme is a one hour gathering where songs are workshopped with basic harmonies and have a sing together. People come casually or regularly; the programme is always easy to follow and join in with. MusicHelps are assisting with funding towards the Choir Director and Piano Accompanist.

TRUE COLOURS CHILDREN’S HEALTH TRUST – Hamilton
True Colours supports children with serious illness and their families, including nursing oversight and assessment, symptom management and psychosocial support –with a range of therapeutic modalities for a child such as art, play and music therapy. MusicHelps are support the salary costs of their music therapy programme.

THE WHAKAAHARU SINGERS - Wellington
The Whakaaharu Singers lessen anxiety and suffering by bringing vocal musical offerings to people who are dying, seriously ill or have dementia. These can be a lonely and terrifying experiences. The songs are gentle, calming and are in a variety of languages including Te Reo. Songs may be soothing or uplifting, depending on the needs of the patient, family and caregivers. Their singing at dementia care facilities is recognized as having a calming effect on dementia patients who sometimes behave in a disturbed manner. MusicHelps are assisting with the Choir Director Fees.
YOUTH OPERA AOTEAROA NEW ZEALAND CHARITABLE TRUST - Rotorua
The purpose of the Trust is to educate and train youth about options for development of vocal performance talent through a series of youth vocal development training programmes named “Accelerando”. MusicHelps will be assisting with payment of tutor fees for two weekend courses being held October and November 2024.
